This is the Internet home of piano player and composer Erik Lindeborg.
While still partly under construction, it already hosts a large media section,
with music, videos, pictures
and sheet music.
In the news section you will
find the latest updates on our
new Erik Lindeborg Trio album,
"TIME", due for release late
January 2010, as well as other projects I'm involved in.
The mp3-player at the bottom left is playing samples from the new CD.
Have a look around, listen to some of the music, and don't forget to leave a message in the guest book!
WELCOME!
Album release for the new trio album January 27 at Nybrokajen 11 in Stockholm!! Get a ticket at www.ticnet.se. Also two more solo concerts coming up and also two very exotic trips.
Next time playing a solo piano concert will be February 9 at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. After that, next time is May 27, sharing a gig at Hotell Hellsten with excellent piano player Alexander Zethson.
Photo below was taken by Mats Helgesson at Steinway Gallery Stockholm, Dec 2. Clips from that concert are available in the media section. Eventually, I hope to find the time to edit a concert film from the same show.
In the beginning of March I go to Ecuador for a tour with Kristian Brink Quartet.
The month ends in Mumbai, India, where I go for eight weeks to write and play music, and to write my Master essay in music.
Later in 2010, I hope to release my solo piano music as an album. Recording engineer Mats Helgesson and I are currently looking for places to record the album. Tell me if you've got a spare Steinway D-model to lend us... ;-)
Also, one more album, for quintet this time, is in the initial stage of planning. The music is written, and I am currently looking for funding and record company.
That's about it for the moment, but check back for updates!
/Erik
The new album is here! Erik Lindeborg Trio - TIME is released on Stockholm Jazz Records and distributed by Border Music.
The music is a twelve-piece suite with a Space theme. All album art as well as the poster for the release is made by Swedish artist Marcus Nyblom.
Erik Lindeborg is a piano player and composer from Stockholm, Sweden.
He is currently studying in the last year of the Master Program at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
Born in 1984, Erik has been playing the piano ever since being able to reach up to the keyboard. After six years of studying classical piano, Erik found his true passion in the rhythms and improvisation of jazz, and the last ten years have been devoted to studies of that tradition, first at Södra Latin high school, then at Skurups People's College and since 2005 at the Royal College of Music.
After moving back to Stockholm in 2005 Erik has been increasingly in demand as a free-lance musician on the regional and national jazz scene. Since 2007 he is a member of the legendary Swedish jazz group "Fredrik Norén Band". He has also won two prestigious competitions for young jazz musicians - "Young Nordic Jazz Comets" (2007) and "Getxo Jazz" (2008) as a member of "Kristian Brink Quartet".
In late 2008 the debut album "Erik Lindeborg Trio - Live at Fasching" was released on Stockholm Jazz Records. It recieved a number of enthusiastic reviews from both newspapers and music magazines in Sweden. The new trio album "TIME" will be released in January 2010. Besides the new album, several other new projects are in the pipeline.
Erik has played in clubs and festivals in Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Turkey and USA and hopes to play in many many more places in the years to come!
In 2006 Erik Lindeborg wrote the score for the short film "Gunnar & Anette", which has been shown in film festivals in Sweden and abroad, as well as being broadcasted several times on Swedish television. In the future, he hopes to find more work as a composer and arranger.

The first Erik Lindeborg Trio album "Live at Fasching" is available here in its entirety.
It features Robert Erlandsson on double bass and Kristian Fredmark on drums and percussion.
Sound is courtesy of Pawel Lucki _ Fasching and Jonas Kullhammar _ Studio Moserobie.
This solo piano concert was recorded Dec 2, 2009 at Steinway Gallery Stockholm.
All songs except "The invisible man" were written in one week, just before the concert.
It's my first time playing a public solo concert, and it is an old dream come true, so don't judge me too hard... :)
The concert was also filmed with three cameras, and when I get the time I will edit the material.
A few clips from the same concert as the album "Erik Lindeborg Trio - Live at Fasching". Robert Erlandsson on the double bass and Kristian Fredmark on drums and percussion.
This section will be updated with new trio clips from "TIME", live at Fasching in Sep 2009,
and solo piano clips from Steinway Gallery in Stockholm in December 2009.
Various photos here, beginning with a few pictures from our gig at Fasching Jazz Club in Stockholm, September 1 2009.
Starting outside in the warm late afternoon, then moving inside the club to play.

This section is growing at the rate that I can find the time to edit my sheets. The goal is to publish all my copyrighted music here for anyone interested to study.
I write most of my music at the piano, and I generally start with finding an interesting chord sequence. You will find a lot of symmetrical patterns in the harmony if you look closely.
For melody I often play the harmony over and over, improvising on it until a melody takes shape.
The sheets are edited to match the recording they appear on, but of course you can play the tunes in many other ways.
I'm always happy to discuss any detail of my music, so if you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to drop me a line!
